Toyota completed their pre-season testing programme in Jerez on Thursday, ahead of next weekend's Australian Grand Prix. The team's second day at the Spanish track proved to be as fruitful as the first, with race drivers Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher covering over 180 laps.

Both drivers focused on optimising set-ups ahead of the Melbourne race, as they continued to test the team's new Albert Park-specific aerodynamic package. Trulli was the quicker of the two, clocking a time of 1m 18.589s, while Schumacher's best lap was a 1m 19.519s. "Both drivers put in some competitive lap times and had no technical issues at all during the day," explained Dieter Gass, Toyota's chief engineer for race and test.
